Homosexuality in the Czech republic is higher than in most places worldwide. Gays in the Czech republic also are afforded more rights than anywhere else in the world. Gay marriage has become legalized nation wide as of 2006 and gay marriages are afforded the same benefits and rights that straight married couples are given.

Acceptance of Gay Culture

The Czech Republic is one of the first countries to fully accept gay culture and integrate it into their way of life. Gay marriage is now an acceptable form of matrimony and is afforded the same rights that other marriages are. Gay married couples are allowed to file taxes jointly, hold joint bank accounts and even adopt children. No other society in the world is more open to the gay culture than the Czech Republic.

Gay Entertainment

In Prague, and other cities around the Czech Republic, there are numerous amounts of activities to partake in if you are a gay or lesbian person. Clubs and bars are great mediums for meeting other gay and lesbian people in a highly social environment. Hotels geared towards gays is also a common theme in the Czech republic and many businesses catering specifically to gays are common and easily found.

The Czech Republic is one of the most accepting countries of gay culture and lifestyle. Being one of the first countries to fully legalize gay unions nation wide, they have become a symbol of acceptance in the gay community. In addition the the fact that gay marriage has been legalized and sanctioned by the state, there are also many different options, as far as entertainment goes, for gay patrons of the Czech Republic. Bars, clubs and hotels that cater specifically to gay men and women are common and fairly easy to find. There are also escort services available for homosexual men and women to use if they are seeking companionship for a night or even two.

Gay Marriage

Gay marriage in the Czech republic is a very welcomed concept among the population. Over half the population of the Czech republic favors gay marriage, which is a big difference from the forty four percent in the rest of the European continent. Gay couples who marry in the Czech republic are not subject to the limitations that are placed on gay couples wishing to marry in countries such as the US. Very little stipulations are placed on gay married couples and they are treated fairly like equals and given most of the same rights that straight married couples are afforded.

Gay nightlife and business in the Czech Republic is stronger than almost anywhere else in the world. Because of the friendly attitude towards the gay lifestyle, many businesses have opened up directly geared at the gay community.
